THE RULES BELOW). VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.
NAME:
Shaw’s
and Star Market Grand Slam
Summer Sweeps (the “Sweepstakes”).
SWEEPSTAKES TIMING AND ENTRY PERIODS: The Sweepstakes begins at 12:00 a.m. Eastern Time (ET) on 3/29/2024
and ends at 11:59:59 p.m. on 9/29/2024 (“Sweepstakes Period”). The
Administrator’s computer is the official time keeping device for this
Sweepstakes.
The Sweepstakes Period includes five (5) entry periods
(each an “Entry Period”), each of which are associated with a discreet random
drawing (each a “Drawing”). See “Winner Selection & Notification” section
below for Entry Period dates and times and Drawing dates (each a “Drawing
Date”).
WHO
MAY ENTER: Sweepstakes is
open to legal U.S. residents of MA, ME, NH, RI and VT who are age 18 or older as of date of
entry, and who have a valid U.S. driver’s license or government issued photo
identification (“Entrant”). The following classes of persons are not eligible to
enter:
a.
Employees,
officers, and directors of Shaw’s Supermarket, Star Supermarket, (collectively
“Sponsors”), Million Dollar Media (“Administrator”), Albertsons Companies, Inc,
each of their respective franchisees, affiliated companies, subsidiaries,
distributors, retailers, printers, advertising and promotion agencies, and any
and all other companies associated with the design or execution of this
Sweepstakes (collectively “Released Parties”), and the members of the immediate
families or households of any of the above, whether or not related. “Immediate
family members” includes, for purposes of this Sweepstakes, parents (including
in-laws), grandparents, siblings (including step-siblings), children (including
step-children), grand children (including step grandchildren) and each of their
respective spouses.
HOW TO ENTER – TWO WAYS:
(i)
Qualifying Purchase:
a.
Single purchase of $50.00 or more: Entrants making a
purchase of $50.00 or more (excluding sales tax and after all coupons and
discounts have been applied) on a single cash register receipt (each a
“Receipt) at a participating Sponsor location within the Sweepstakes Period
(each a “Qualifying Purchase) will be the recipient of one (1) alphanumeric
code (each a “Code”) printed on their Receipt. Two (2) or more Receipts may not
be combined for the purpose of reaching a required Qualifying Purchase level or
to earn additional Codes. Shaw’s and Star Market DriveUp
& Go™ or other applicable Sponsor pickup and delivery transactions, or
purchases made via a transaction using DoorDash, UberEats, Instacart or other similar third party businesses
as solely determined by Sponsor (“Non-Valid Purchases”) are not eligible to
receive a Code. Sponsor and
Administrator reserve the right to void any Code that was received as a result
of a Non-Valid Purchase.
b.

additional Codes on the same Receipt if their Qualifying Purchase includes the

one (1) or more qualifying Grocery Own Brand Items – including Lucerne,
Signature Select, Open Nature, O Organics, Soleil, Signature Reserve, Value
Corner, and Signature Pet branded items from the grocery department
(“Qualifying Grocery Own Brand”). For a

Upon receipt of one (1) or more Codes on a Receipt, Entrants must log
onto www.grandslamsummersweeps.com
(the “Website”) during the Sweepstakes Period and (if a first time visitor)
follow the on-line instructions to fully complete and submit the registration
form with all required information, including first and last name, complete
address (no P.O Boxes), valid email
address, birth date, phone number (including
area code) and favorite Sponsor location.
After having read and agreed to these Official Rules, click the “Submit”
button to submit your on-line registration to be directed to the Code
submission page. Maximum of one (1) registration per person and per valid
email address during the entire Sweepstakes Period. Registering more than one time during the entire Sweepstakes Period (by using the same or alternate names or email addresses) will
invalidate all Entries by that Entrant.
Returning visitors may log into the Website using the email address they
originally registered with for the Sweepstakes to be directed to the Code
submission page.
Upon visiting the Code submission page on the Website, follow the
on-line instructions to submit your Code(s).
Each submitted Code that is accepted by the Website as a valid and
approved Code will earn Entrants one (1) entry (“Entry”) into the Sweepstakes.
A Code can only be used once and only by one registered Entrant.
(ii) Without a Purchase
(Mail-in Entry):
a.
To obtain one (1) Entry in the Sweepstakes without making a
purchase, hand print your complete name, address (including city, state and zip code), email address, birth date,
and daytime and evening phone numbers (including
area codes) on a 3x5 card or piece of paper, and mail your entry in a #10,
business-size envelope with first-class postage affixed to: Shaw’s
and Star Market Grand Slam Summer Sweeps, P.O. Box 278, Woodbridge,
NJ 07095. Information on all Entries must be
hand-printed. No mechanically reproduced
or photocopied entries allowed. Limit
one (1) mail-in Entry per outer mailing envelope. All
mail-in entries must be postmarked by 9/29/2024, and
received by 10/6/2024. Proof of sending or submission will not be deemed to
be proof of receipt by Administrator.
Sponsor and Administrator are not responsible for lost, late, illegible,
invalid, misdirected, mutilated, incomplete, or postage-due mail/entries, which
will be disqualified. Mail-in entries become property of Sponsor and will not
be returned. Mail-in Entries must contain all Entry fields outlined above;
otherwise, they are void and will not be eligible to win.
Regardless of the Entry method used to enter the Sweepstakes or the
number of Codes an Entrant may receive, there is a limit of two-hundred
(200) entries per Entrant for the entire Sweepstakes Period. By
participating and submitting an Entry, Entrant agrees that Sponsor and Released
Parties are authorized to contact Entrant via email, mail, phone
or any other form of media to make Entrant aware of information pertinent to
the Sweepstakes, and to distribute information regarding Sponsor’s featured
products, special events or promotional offers, or purchase incentives.
Entrants may opt-out of any further email communication at any time by clicking
on “unsubscribe” located in the footer of promotional emails from Sponsor.
Released Parties are not responsible for
lost, late, misdirected, illegible, incomplete, invalid, unintelligible,
damaged, or Entries submitted in a
manner that is not expressly allowed under these Official Rules, or any Entry not submitted, received, or lost due to any
technical error or failure, human or programming error, unauthorized human
intervention, inaccurate capture or mis-entry of any required information, or
the failure to capture any such information or effects of hackers or failure of
any electronic equipment, computer transmissions and/or network connections;
all of which will be disqualified.
Each Entrant must submit an
Entry on his/her own behalf. Any Entry submitted on behalf of another
individual or using another person’s email address or name will be disqualified
and ineligible to claim any prize. No mechanically reproduced or automated entries
permitted. Use of any automated system to participate is prohibited and will
result in disqualification and all such Entries will be deemed void. In the
event of a dispute as to any on-line registration, the authorized account
holder of the e-mail address used to register will be deemed to be the
registrant and he/she must be eligible according to these Official Rules. The
“authorized account holder” is the natural person assigned an e-mail address by
an Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization
responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the
submitted address. All Entries received become the property of the Sponsor and
will not be returned.
WINNER SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION: On each of the Drawing Dates set forth in the chart
below, a random Drawing will be held to select grand prize, 2nd
prize and 3rd prize potential winners (each a “Potential Winner”)
from among all eligible Entries received by the stated deadline for the
applicable Entry Period. Non-winning Entries will roll over to the next
Drawing, if any. Entries not received by the Entry Period deadlines below will
be entered into the next Drawing.

Administrator will attempt to make contact with a Potential Winner by phone and/or email
within 48-hours of the Drawing to the phone number and email address provided
by Entrants during registration. Note:
phone messages will not be left during the winner notification process.
Upon Administrator successfully making contact with a Potential Winner, Administrator will
send an official prize notification packet to Potential Winner via email
(“Paperwork”), which must be completed and submitted by Potential Winner to
Administrator per the provided instructions within two (2) days of receipt.
Potential Winners who submit their completed Paperwork per the provided
instructions within two (2) days of receipt will be designated as a winner
(each a “Winner”). If the Potential Winner does not meet the eligibility
requirements, is unable to be contacted per the requirements above, is unable
or unwilling to accept the prize or elects to decline the prize or does not
return the Paperwork by the stated deadline, that Potential Winner shall be disqualified
and, at Sponsor’s discretion and time permitting, an alternate Potential Winner
will be selected at random from among all remaining Entries for the
corresponding Entry Period and will be notified per the procedures outlined
above. Any disqualified Entrant will not receive an alternate prize
substitution or compensation. Decisions
of the Administrator in the selection and determination of winners and all
matters relating to this Sweepstakes are final and binding.

Sponsor and Administrator are
not responsible for any travel delays or difficulty for any Grand Prize award.
If travel delays or difficulty prevent arrival in time for any
and all elements of trip or Grand Prize award, Sponsor and Administrator
are not responsible for awarding any compensation in lieu thereof. Prize Winner
and his/her guest(s) must travel together on the same itinerary. Any changes to
completed travel arrangements, once booked, are the sole responsibility of the
Prize Winner, and are solely at the Winner’s expense. Actual value of the trip
will depend on point of departure, destination and any
airfare fluctuations. Any difference between the value stated in these Official
Rules and the actual value, if any, will not be awarded. Prize Winner and
travel companion(s) are solely responsible for all costs incurred to and from
the nearest train station to Prize Winner’s home as designated by Sponsor as
the prize originates and terminates at such departure point unless otherwise
agreed to by Sponsor in writing.
All ground transportation including airport and hotel transfers, parking,
meals, gratuities, checked baggage fees, seat assignment fees, hotel resort
fees, incidental expenses, applicable taxes (including, but not limited to all
local, state and federal taxes) and any other expenses not specified herein as
being included in the Prize award are the sole responsibility of Winner.
Sponsor is not responsible for late, lost, damaged or stolen luggage. Prize
Winner will be required to provide a credit card at the time of hotel check-in,
and hotel will place a temporary ‘hold’ on credit card to cover any incidental
charges by winner and/or winner’s guest. Temporary hold dollar amount on credit
card is subject to hotel policy. It is recommended that winner and travel
companion obtain sufficient personal insurance (at their own expense) prior to
departure. Prize Winner and travel companion(s) hereby release Sponsor from any
duty to provide, check, or verify any and all
necessary ID’s, passports, visas and tourist cards, birth certificates,
vaccination certificates, and any other travel requirements (“Personal
Documents”). Sponsor shall not have any responsibility for the replacement of
lost or stolen Personal Documents or tickets, coupons, vouchers, receipts or other documents pertaining to the prize (“Travel
Documents”) once the Travel Documents have been provided to Prize Winner and
travel companion(s). If Prize Winner elects to take prize trip without a guest,
components of the Grand Prize trip will be awarded in increments/quantities
suitable for one traveler and Prize Winner will not receive any compensation or
substitute/alternate prize for same. Prize Winner agrees to maintain his or her
behavior and the behavior of its guest in accordance with all applicable laws,
generally accepted social practices, and adhere to all rules and regulations
applicable to any airline, hotel, venue or other
entity connected to participation in any prize activity, including, without
limitation, use of a prize component. Prize Winner understands and agrees that
if Winner or his/her guest is removed from any activity at any time, or if the
Prize Winner’s or his/her guest’s behavior at any point is disruptive, causes
damage or could cause damage to person, property or otherwise violates the
policies of an entity associated with the prize, then winner may be required to
forfeit the remainder of the prize without substitution or compensation.
Grand Slam Challenge – Entry Period 4 Grand
Prize Winners only: The
following requirements will apply to the Grand Prize portion of Entry Period 4
for each selected Winner. Only each
selected Grand Prize Winner for Entry Period 4 will be allowed to participate.
In order for the Grand Slam Grand Prize to be awarded to each eligible Winner, the designated team must hit a grand slam home run during the designated game date as follows:

For purposes of this challenge, a grand slam home run is defined as an official home run as ruled by the league while there are base runners on all (3) bases – resulting in (4) runs batted in for the batter on the play.
· The hit must be officially ruled as a 4-run ‘grand slam home run in the box score and official statistics of the applicable league.
i. Inside the park home runs will be eligible to contribute to the winning grand slam home run provided there are no errors committed on the play, and the hit is officially ruled as a home run.
·
If the game in which the designated team hits a
grand slam home run is cancelled for any reason prior to becoming an official
game, all statistics are removed from the official score book and no prize
claims will be acknowledged for that game.
·
Sponsor
reserves the right to reschedule the Grand Slam Challenge to an alternate game
date if an assigned game is cancelled, suspended or if tickets are unavailable for
any reason.
·
In the event the grand slam home run Prize winning requirement does
not occur, then then this portion of the Prize award shall NOT be awarded.
Maximum of one (1) Prize per person and per
household during the entire Sweepstakes. Maximum retail value of all
available Prizes: $57,350. All Prizes awarded in the form of a gift card
are subject to terms and conditions and policies of gift card supplier. Sponsor
reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to award multiple gift cards in
varying denominations to satisfy the total amount to be awarded. Prize will
be shipped to the verified Winner’s residential address submitted during
registration (i.e. UPS, USPS or other Sponsor
designated carrier), or as otherwise specified by Sponsor. Allow 8– 12 weeks
for Prize delivery.
Once shipped, Prize shall be
considered awarded and delivered, and Sponsor shall not be responsible for
actual receipt of delivery by a Winner. In the event of any delivery issues,
including undelivered, misdirected, lost or stolen delivery, Sponsor shall have
no responsibility to replace the Prize, and Prize shall not be substituted by
Sponsor with any alternate Prize or compensation. Winner shall look solely to
designated shipper/carrier for any lost, damaged, stolen or mis-delivered
packages and not to Sponsor for any delivery issues.
GENERAL PRIZE CONDITIONS: Prize must be accepted as awarded. All
other costs and expenses related to Prize acceptance, delivery, redemption or
use not specified herein as being provided are the sole responsibility of
Winner. All income, federal, state and local taxes are
the Winner’s sole responsibility. All Prize components are non-transferable,
and no cash redemption or substitution allowed, except at Sponsor’s sole
discretion or as provided herein. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a
Prize or component of a Prize with one of comparable or greater value, at its
sole discretion. All Prize
components are awarded as is, without any warranty, express or implied, by
Sponsor. Failure to collect or properly claim Prize in accordance with these
Official Rules will result in forfeiture of the Prize. If forfeited for any
reason, Winner will not receive any other substitution or compensation, and the Prize will remain the property
of Sponsor and will not be awarded, except as provided herein. A properly claimed Prize will be awarded. Any unclaimed
Prize or Prize component will not be awarded. Prizes may not be awarded
if an insufficient number of eligible Entries are received.
ADDITIONAL
RULES AND RESTRICTIONS: By
participating, Entrants agree to abide by and be bound by these Official Rules
and the decisions of the Sponsor, which shall be final in all matters relating
to this Sweepstakes. In the event an Entrant wins a Prize and is later found to
be in violation of these Official Rules, Entrant will be required to forfeit
the Prize or to reimburse Sponsor for the stated value of the Prize if such
violation is discovered after Winner has redeemed the Prize. Participation in
Sweepstakes constitutes permission for the Sponsor and its designees to use
Entrants’ names, cities and states of residence, and likenesses for purposes of
advertising and trade in any and all media now or
hereafter known worldwide on perpetuity without limitation or further
compensation, notification or permission, unless prohibited by law. False, fraudulent or deceptive entries or acts shall render
Entrants ineligible for any Prize.
By participating, Entrants agree to hold all
Released Parties harmless from any claims, losses, actions, or damages of any
kind, whether actual, incidental or consequential, for injury (including but
not limited to death), damages, losses or expenses arising out of or relating
to Entrant’s participation in this Sweepstakes, or the acceptance, possession
or use or misuse of the Prize, or participation in prize-related activities
(including but not limited to travel or activity related thereto), and to assume
all liability thereof. Released Parties shall not be liable to Winner or any
other person for failure to supply the Prize or any part thereof by reason of
any event of force majeure, including without limitation, any acts of God such
as an epidemic, pandemic (including foreseeable and ongoing effects of
COVID-19) any actions, regulations, orders, or requests by any governmental
entity, equipment failure, terrorist acts, war, fire, unusually severe weather,
embargo, labor dispute or strike, labor or material shortage, transportation
interruption of any kind, or any other cause beyond Released Parties’ control.
Released Parties are not responsible for
errors of any kind, whether computer, software, technical, mechanical,
electronic, telephone, typographical, printing, human or otherwise, relating to
or in connection with the Sweepstakes, including, without limitations, errors
which may occur in connection with the printing or advertising of this
Sweepstakes, administration or execution of the Sweepstakes, the processing of
Entries or in the announcement of the Prizes or Winners. Sponsor, in its sole
discretion, reserves the right to disqualify any person tampering with the
entry process or the operation of the Website. In the event of early
termination of the Sweepstakes, Sponsor reserves the right to randomly select

The odds of being selected
as a Potential Winner are dependent upon the total number of eligible Entries
received during each Entry Period.
PRIVACY: Sponsor is committed to protecting privacy. To enter the Sweepstakes,
Entrants must complete an official Entry with the entrant’s name, email
address, mailing address and phone number. The information submitted on the
Entry will be used for selecting winners and giving away Prizes. Sponsor may
retain any Entry and winner selection information for recordkeeping and
marketing or promotional communication purposes, but the information will not
be used for other purposes, except as described in these Official Rules Sponsor
does not sell any personal information collected as part of this Sweepstakes.

IN
CASE OF DISPUTES: By
participating, each Entrant agrees that (1) any and all disputes, claims, and
causes of action arising out of or in connection with this Sweepstakes, or any
prize awarded, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of
class action, and any judicial proceeding shall take place in a federal or
state court within the State of New Jersey; (2) any and all claims, judgments,
and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs associated with
entering this Sweepstakes, but in no event attorneys' fees; and (3) under no
circumstances will Entrant be permitted to obtain awards for, and Entrant
hereby waives all rights to claim, punitive, incidental, and consequential
damages, and any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses,
and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased. All
issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation, and
enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of Entrant
and Sponsor in connection with this Sweepstakes, shall be governed by, and
construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New Jersey, without
giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules or provisions
(whether of the State of New Jersey or any other jurisdiction), that would
cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the State of
New Jersey.
