OFFICIAL
RULES
These Contest rules are specific
to the 106.7 THE FAN AND SHEEHY’S ‘8 IN THE 8TH’ Contest (the “Contest”) conducted by Entercom New York, LLC d/b/a WJFK-FM (the “Station”). Except to the extent specifically set forth
below with respect to this specific Contest, the Station’s general contest
rules apply to this Contest as well. A
copy of these specific Contest rules and the Station’s general contest rules
are available at the Station’s studio at 1015 Half Street SE, Suite 200,
Washington, D.C. 20003 during regular
business hours and on the contest page on the Station’s website at www.TheFanDC.com/rules. To the
extent the general contest rules differ from these rules, these rules will
govern and control with respect to this Contest.
Special
Entry/Eligibility Restrictions
1.
No
purchase is necessary to enter or participate in this Contest.
2.
To
be eligible to participate in this Contest, entrants must be legal U.S.
residents of MD, VA, WV, or the District of Columbia, and must be 18 years of
age or older as of date of entry in this Contest.
3.
Employees
of Station, Sheehy Automotive, Million Dollar Media, LLC (“Contest Administrator”), or any other sponsors participating in
this Contest and their respective affiliated companies, advertising or
promotional agencies and the immediate family and household members (as defined
in the general contest rules) of each are ineligible to participate in this
Contest.
4.
Maximum
of one (1) entry per email address during entire Contest Registration Period.
How to Enter
5.
To
enter, beginning on June 3, 2019 at 12:00am (ET) and ending on June 28, 2019 at
11:59am (ET) (the “Registration Period”), visit www.Sheehy8in8.com, and follow the online instructions provided to
complete and submit the online entry form with all of the required information
including name, complete address (including City, State, Zip), valid
email address, age, and phone number(s) (including area code(s)).
All online entries must be received by 11:59am
(ET) on June 28, 2019 to be eligible.
6.
Qualifying
Games and game dates for this Contest shall be the twenty-five (25) designated
regular season Washington Professional Baseball Team baseball games scheduled
to be played on between Tuesday, June 4, 2019 and Sunday, June 30, 2019 (“Qualifying Game(s)”).
How to Win
7.
Up
to twenty-five (25) “Finalists” will
be selected during the Contest. One (1) Finalist will be selected at random by
the Station for each 2019 Washington Professional Baseball Team (the “Team”) regular season game scheduled to be played on between Tuesday, June 4, 2019 and Sunday,
June 30, 2019. Subject to verification
of eligibility and compliance with the Contest rules, prior to each of the
Qualifying Games, Station will randomly select one (1) Finalist per Qualifying
Game from among all entries received to the point in time of such drawing. For each Qualifying Game, Finalists will be
randomly selected from among all entries received in this Contest through 11:59am
(ET) on that game day for weekday games and through 11:59am (ET) on the Friday
prior to the scheduled weekend game date.
Finalists will be selected in Station-conducted random drawings from all
eligible online entries received by 11:59am (ET) and be pre-assigned to one (1)
specific Qualifying Game as follows:
a.
One
(1) Finalist will be selected on June 4, 2019 at approximately 12:01pm ET for
that night’s Team Qualifying Game;
b.
One
(1) Finalist will be selected on June 5, 2019 at approximately 12:01pm ET for
that day’s Team Qualifying Game;
c.
One
(1) Finalist will be selected on June 6, 2019 at approximately 12:01pm ET for
that night’s Team Qualifying Game;
d.
One
(1) Finalist will be selected on June 7, 2019 at approximately 12:01pm ET for
that night’s Team Qualifying Game;
e.
One
(1) Finalist will be selected on June 7, 2019 at approximately 12:02pm ET for
the Team Qualifying Game on June 8, 2019;
f.
One
(1) Finalist will be selected on June 7, 2019 at approximately 12:03pm ET for
the Team Qualifying Game on June 9, 2019;
g.
One
(1) Finalist will be selected on June 10, 2019 at approximately 12:01pm ET for
that night’s Team Qualifying Game;
h.
One
(1) Finalist will be selected on June 11, 2019 at approximately 12:01pm ET for
that night’s Team Qualifying Game;
i.
One
(1) Finalist will be selected on June 13, 2019 at approximately 12:01pm ET for
that night’s Team Qualifying Game;
j.
One
(1) Finalist will be selected on June 14, 2019 at approximately 12:01pm ET for
that night’s Team Qualifying Game;
k.
One
(1) Finalist will be selected on June 14, 2019 at approximately 12:02pm ET for
the Team Qualifying Game on June 15, 2019;
l.
One
(1) Finalist will be selected on June 14, 2019 at approximately 12:03pm ET for
the Team Qualifying Game on June 16, 2019;
m.
One
(1) Finalist will be selected on June 17, 2019 at approximately 12:01pm ET for
that night’s Team Qualifying Game;
n.
One
(1) Finalist will be selected on June 18, 2019 at approximately 12:01pm ET for
that night’s Team Qualifying Game;
o.
One
(1) Finalist will be selected on June 19, 2019 at approximately 12:01pm ET for
that night’s Team Qualifying Game;
p.
One
(1) Finalist will be selected on June 20, 2019 at approximately 12:01pm ET for
that night’s Team Qualifying Game;
q.
One
(1) Finalist will be selected on June 21, 2019 at approximately 12:01pm ET for
that night’s Team Qualifying Game;
r.
One
(1) Finalist will be selected on June 21, 2019 at approximately 12:02pm ET for
the Team Qualifying Game on June 22, 2019;
s.
One
(1) Finalist will be selected on June 21, 2019 at approximately 12:03pm ET for
the Team Qualifying Game on June 23, 2019;
t.
One
(1) Finalist will be selected on June 25, 2019 at approximately 12:01pm ET for
that night’s Team Qualifying Game;
u.
One
(1) Finalist will be selected on June 26, 2019 at approximately 12:01pm ET for
that night’s Team Qualifying Game;
v.
One
(1) Finalist will be selected on June 27, 2019 at approximately 12:01pm ET for
that night’s Team Qualifying Game;
w.
One
(1) Finalist will be selected on June 28, 2019 at approximately 12:01pm ET for
that night’s Team Qualifying Game;
x.
One
(1) Finalist will be selected on June 28, 2019 at approximately 12:02pm ET for
the Team Qualifying Game on June 29, 2019;
y.
One
(1) Finalist will be selected on June 28, 2019 at approximately 12:03pm ET for
the Team Qualifying Game on June 30, 2019;
z.
Non-selected
entries will automatically roll over to subsequent random drawings in the
Contest, if any.
8.
Subject
to verification of eligibility and compliance with the Contest rules, each Finalist
selected will be pre-assigned to one (1) specific Qualifying Game. The name of each Finalist assigned to each
Qualifying Game may be announced on-air on WJFK-FM (or its network affiliates)
prior to, during and/or after the commencement of the broadcast of the Qualifying
Game to which they were assigned.
Finalists will not be notified in advance in any other manner that they
were selected nor be notified of which designated Qualifying Game they have
been assigned to. Finalists do not need to be listening to win.
9.
If
a Finalist does not win the Grand Prize (as
described in section 10 below), he/she will be returned to the entry pool
and will be eligible to be selected again as a Finalist for all subsequent Qualifying
Games. If a Finalist wins the Grand
Prize, he/she is disqualified from again being selected as a Finalist for the
remainder of the Contest.
10. Grand Prize Winning
Requirements – Exactly 8 Runs in the 8th Inning
a.
Subject to the conditions set forth
in these Contest rules, if the Team scores exactly eight (8) runs in the eighth
(8th) inning during a Finalist’s
Qualifying Game, subject to the conditions set forth herein, then the assigned
Finalist for that Qualifying Game will be awarded the “Grand Prize” (as described in
Section 14 below), subject to verification of eligibility and compliance
with these Contest rules (each a “Grand
Prize Winner”). If the Team does not score exactly eight (8) runs in the
eighth (8th) Inning during a Qualifying Game that game’s assigned
Finalist will not win the Grand Prize in the Contest.
i.
If a Qualifying Game is re-scheduled
or postponed for any reason, the make-up Qualifying Game will be eligible for
the Grand Prize and the selected Finalist will
remain. If the Qualifying Game is
cancelled and no make-up Qualifying Game is scheduled, the Finalist is no longer eligible to win a Grand Prize for that
Qualifying Game.
ii.
Potential Finalists will be notified
by telephone at the telephone number provided in the online entry form promptly
following each random drawing and notified of which designated Qualifying Game
they have been assigned to. In the event
Station does not reach a Potential Finalists, Station will leave a message.
Finalists do not need to be listening to win.
11.
Effect of
Rescheduled/Cancelled/Incomplete Qualifying Games:
a.
If
a Qualifying Game is cancelled, without being rescheduled, for any reason prior
to becoming an official game, all statistics are removed from the official
score book and no prize claims will be acknowledged for that Qualifying Game,
even if a prize would have otherwise been awarded pursuant to Sections 10 above.
b.
If
a Qualifying Game is rescheduled to a game date prior to December 31, 2019,
then that assigned Finalist and Qualifying Game, as rescheduled, shall be
eligible to win under the terms of these Contest rules.
c.
Any
rain-shortened Qualifying Game, or any Qualifying Games that are less than
9-innings, shall be eligible for the potential prizes in these Contest rules as
long as the Qualifying Game is considered an official game (minimum 5-innings),
and the stats of the Qualifying Game are officially recorded by the league.
12.
Qualifying
plays must be recorded in the game stats of a regulation game played by the Team. If any Qualifying Game is called and therefore
not a regulation game, the Grand Prize will not be awarded for that Qualifying
Game. If any Qualifying Game is
suspended and play resumed, or rescheduled to a future date, so that the
Qualifying Game is designated a regulation game, even if the rescheduled date of
such game falls after the Registration Period, such Qualifying Game shall be
deemed eligible for the purposes of the Contest in accordance with Section 10
above.
13.
In
the event that a winner or Finalist is disqualified, for any reason, at any
time, the Prize that he/she may have otherwise been entitled to will not be
re-awarded and will remain the property of Station or its designee.
Prize(s)
14.
Grand Prize:
A maximum of one (1) Grand Prize MAY be awarded per Qualifying Game to
the one (1) Finalist assigned to that Qualifying Game if the Grand Prize Winning
Requirements occur (as explained in
Section 10 above). Subject to
verification of eligibility and compliance with the Contest rules, each Grand
Prize Winner (if any) will receive a new or used “Vehicle” from Sheehy
Automotive with a maximum retail value of $25,000. There may be zero (0) Grand Prizes awarded in
this Contest or, in the unlikely event of a Grand Prize Winner for every
Qualifying Game, there could be up to twenty-five (25) Grand Prize Winners in
this Contest.
a.
The Vehicle must
be accepted by the Grand Prize Winner “as-is”.
b.
Prior to being
provided with possession of the Vehicle, the Grand Prize Winner must pay title,
license and registration fees to be determined by Grand Prize Winner’s postal
code.
c.
Grand
Prize has no cash value, cash may not be substituted, and vehicle is not
transferable to any other person. No family member or other person may accept
the prize on behalf of the winner.
d.
The Grand
Prize Winner(s), if any, may select a Vehicle from Sheehy Auto Stores (12701 Fair Lakes Circle, # 250, Fairfax, VA 22033) of up to $25,000. In the event that a Grand Prize Winner
selects a Vehicle over $25,000, that Grand Prize Winner will be required to pay
for any additional costs above $25,000.
Some exclusions may apply. Winner
will not receive any difference in value if the selected Vehicle is priced less
than $25,000.
e.
Grand Prize
Winner shall be solely responsible for obtaining and payment of any federal or
state required registration, inspection, emissions inspection, insurance coverage,
taxes, gasoline, Vehicle maintenance (including routine oil changes and tire
rotations), excessive wear and tear, and all other fees and expenses associated
with the receipt and use of the Vehicle.
f.
Grand
Prize Winner will be required to complete all relevant ownership documents and
to pick up the Vehicle at Dealer during regular business hours and completed
all necessary paperwork on a date/time mutually agreed to by the winner and
Dealer, but the Vehicle must be picked up within thirty (30) days following
winning or whenever the Grand Prize Winner's Vehicle becomes available. FAILURE TO PICK UP THE VEHICLE, COMPLETE ALL
OF THE REQUIRED FORMS AND PAY ALL ADVANCE FEES REQUIRED WITHIN THIRTY (30) DAYS
OF WINNING, FOR ANY REASON WILL AUTOMATICALLY RESULT IN FORFEITURE OF ANY PRIZE
IN THIS CONTEST BY THE WINNER. Station is NOT obligated to select a replacement
Grand Prize Winner (but reserves the right to do so in its sole discretion,
time permitting).
g.
Grand Prize Winner will be required to sign and return a
completed IRS W-9 form, one or more affidavits and/or liability release
agreements within four (4) business days prior to being entitled to any prize
in this Contest. Failure to do so by
that deadline will result in automatic forfeiture of any prize in this Contest.
15. The transfer of
ownership of the Vehicle, from Dealer to the Grand Prize Winner, shall require
the Grand Prize Winner 1) to provide proof of valid insurance that is of
sufficient coverage to satisfy those minimum coverage requirements as required
by the Maryland, Virginia or Washington, D.C. Department of Motor Vehicles
based upon the country and municipality in which the Grand Prize Winner
resides, and 2) to pay in advance of taking ownership of the Vehicle, all
applicable sales and use taxes, license, title, and registration fees as
required by the Department of Motor Vehicles based upon the country and
municipality in which the Grand Prize Winner resides, along with service fees
(if any) required by the Dealer.
16. Additional information regarding
the warranty, pick-up/delivery, and additional information will be mailed to
the winner by Dealer within thirty (30) business days of winning the
prize. Failure to provide all requested
information, to complete all Station and/or Dealer required documentation, and
to pick up the winning vehicle within thirty (30) business days from the date
on which the Grand Prize Winner is notified that the vehicle is ready for
pick-up, may result in forfeiture of the Vehicle, at the Station’s sole
discretion as resulting in a non-appealable decision.
17. SALES TAX, GOVERNMENTAL
FEES AND CHARGES, AND ANY ADDITIONAL CHARGES THAT MAY TO ANY PRIZE IN THIS
CONTEST MUST BE PAID BY THE WINNER PRIOR TO BEING ENTITLED TO RECEIVE THE
PRIZE. STATION DOES NOT GUARANTEE THAT TAX
INFORMATION CONTAINED IN THESE CONTEST RULES WILL ACCURATELY REFLECT THE ACTUAL
TAX DUE FROM WINNER UPON RECEIPT OF GRAND PRIZE. CONTEST PARTICIPANTS ARE ADVISED TO CONTACT
THE MARYLAND, VIRGINIA OR WASHINGTON D.C. DEPARTMENT OF MOTOR VEHICLES FOR SEPCIFIC
TAX RATES AND INFORMATION.
Odds of Winning
18.
The odds
of becoming a Finalist in the Contest depend on the number of eligible entrants
received and the number of drawings each entrant is included in. The earlier you enter this Contest, the
greater number of drawings that you will be included in and the greater your
chances of winning.
19.
The odds
of a Finalist winning a Grand Prize depends on the performance of the
individual Team batters during the 8th Inning of a Qualifying Game
that a Finalist is assigned to.

Other Rules Specific to This Contest
21. This Contest will be
promoted and announced by Station during certain professional baseball game
broadcasts that are carried by affiliated and unrelated radio stations that are
part of the WJFK-FM radio network and/or baseball network. Accordingly, although listeners of those
radio stations and their internet broadcast streams or websites and other
Sponsor websites may enter this Contest directly or through links to the
website above (www.Sheehy8in8.com),
this Contest is being conducted solely by Entercom Washington, DC, LLC and
administered by Million Dollar Media.
